Welcome to Stoneridge Kennels

CONSTRUCTION!!!

IT'S STARTED!

HERE ARE PICTURES OF OUR NEW WORK IN PROGRESS!

Check out the 2006 page for the clearing that was completed in 2006.  We have now moved to our new property and the house is going up!  It's going to be a long and involved process that will probably take several years.  Currently we are living in our 5th wheel....

with temporary dog yards.

We are building our house out of AMVIC Styrofoam blocks.  The blocks are set up

(side of house where kennels will be)

and braced, then filled with concrete.

in the end this will all be worth the effort as can be seen by the picture below...

Not only is the view beautiful but it is quiet and wild.  Each morning we hear the cranes and loons.  The cranes even land in our yard...

Here are pictures of our new spot next to the house...

Yep, it's just like camping...very extended camping...

We're now bracing the walls to get ready to pour the concrete...

The garage is as far as we'll get this year.  We'll soon have trusses and begin putting our roof on!

The day is here!  Pouring the walls for the garage.

Here's the concrete truck and pump truck.

Brian is manning the pump hose and placing the concrete in the Styrofoam forms.

Trusses are coming soon!

Trusses...we've learned lots about trusses...

This is NOT the way to do trusses...it was POURING down rain, we didn't have the right equipment and it was awful!

This is the next day...it wasn't much better.

This is more like it.  They're going on!  The crane and a great group of friends made it all possible.

It's taking shape!  The sheathing is going on and hopefully within the next week or two we'll have the roof and floors done!  Brian and I can't thank those who've helped us with this huge task enough.  You know who you are....

    `

Here we are...September 29, 2007.  Trusses, sheathing and felt is on the roof.  Metal is next.

Both front and back ends are enclosed and we're working on getting ready to pour the floor.

The little "windows" on the wall are the "doggie doors" for the kennel area.

The floor has been compacted, covered with plastic and R-Tech insulation and now we're adding the PEX tubing for the in-floor heat.

The poles are in place for the roof over the dog kennels on the outside.

The freezer unit (on the left) is getting close to being done.  The picture on the right shows the other "large" dog yard that will be accessed from the garage.

Keep checking back as we continue with more pictures of our project!
